TRADE THE DAY Featured Author: Lynne Raimondo

By - August 16, 2013

On August 23, starting at midnight, I will be hosting a special event called Trade the Day: Spotlight on Team Alaina. During this twenty-four hour blog-a-thon, proceeds from sales of my new book, The Trade, made on my publisher's website at will go to benefit Team Alaina for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. In the weekdays leading up to the big event, I will continue to introduce you to two of the day's scheduled special guests, some which will be guest blogging, some who will be hosting giveaways of autographed books and other goodies, and some who will be doing both!  Get to know this fantastic group of people right here, and come back on August 23 to join us for a day of 24 hours, 23 guest authors, and 1 goal...a cure.

I'm happy to introduce my next featured author:

Lynne Raimondo is the author of Dante's Wood (Seventh Street Books), a Library Journal Mystery Debut of the Month.  Currently a full-time writer, Lynne was formerly a partner in a major Chicago law firm, the general counsel of Arthur Andersen, LLP, and the general counsel of the Illinois Department of Revenue.

In Dante's Wood a troubled psychiatrist turns investigator when a young patient confesses to murder.  "Stunning" and "one of the best mystery debuts since V.I. Warshawsky solved her first case." --  Mystery Scene Magazine.  "A real keeper."  -- Library Journal (starred review).  "Keeps the reader turning the pages." -- Publisher's Weekly.

A troubled psychiatrist turns investigator when a young patient confesses to murder.

Psychiatrist Mark Angelotti knows that genes don't lie. Or do they?

Back at work after a devastating illness, Mark believes he has put his past behind him when he is asked to examine Charlie Dickerson, a mentally handicapped teenager whose wealthy mother insists he is a victim of sexual abuse. Mark diagnoses a different reason for Charlie's ills, but his prescription turns deadly when a teacher is murdered and Charlie confesses to the police.

Volunteering to testify on Charlie's behalf, Mark's worst fears are realized when paternity tests show the victim was pregnant with Charlie's child.

Not even genes—Mark's or Charlie's—can be trusted to shine a light on the truth. Now it's up to Mark to prove Charlie's innocence in a case where nothing is as first meets the eye.
